What Is SIP Peering?
"SIP Peering" is a connection between two or more separate networks - more specifically, PBX (Private Branch eXchange) Systems - in order to pass SIP traffic between each network. This kind of connection can be established in many ways, but two of the most common ways are through Username / Password Authentication or IP-based Authentication. With 1-VoIP, SIP Peering can be setup either way, but the fastest, quickest, most secure, and most preferred way to connect is via the IP-based Authentication.
Because peering is so heavily dependent upon a reliable connection and dependable servers, 1-VoIP has established a network designed to give you peace of mind:
- Our Primary and Secondary switching facilities are geographically separated 200 miles apart and are connected through separate backbone networks.
- Each facility is built exclusively using Dell Poweredge Servers with redundant power supplies connected to separate power sources and mirrored hot swappable Raid drives.
- Our redundancy extends to your incoming calls as well as outbound.
